Job description

Manage the collegiate recovery program with the goal of offering supportive services to students as they pursue their academic, professional, and personal goals. This individual will serve as the first point of contact for the project to students, faculty and staff. This position works directly under the supervision of the Principal Investigators of the BC ROAR Program and assists with carrying out important operational duties and planning/organizing of program activities. Benedict College's program will follow the national model of a collegiate recovery program within a campus culture that reinforces the decision to engage in a lifestyle free from substance use. The Program Coordinator will facilitate BC-ROAR's adoption of the Recovery of Care principles as well as the Language of Recovery philosophy.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage the BC-ROAR Wellness Center
  • Support planning and coordination of the program and its activities.
  • Maintain an active database of all program participants.
  • Submit required monthly and quarterly reports to SC DAODAS
  • Assist with maintaining project budget and tracking expenditures/transactions.
  • Schedule and organize meetings/events.
  • Create Social Marketing Campaign(s) with guidance from BC-ROAR Advisory/Planning Council
  • Coordinate activities for National Recovery Month
  • Design and distribute student education materials which focuses on prevention and education of the harmful effects of Alcohol and Drug Use
  • Work with other contract providers with the scheduling and coordinating of recovery support groups for students.
  • Help build positive relationships within the team and external parties.
  • Complete Peer Support Certification within six months of hire.
  • Complete other duties as assigned by the Principal Investigators of the BC ROAR Program.

Bachelor's degree in Social Work or related field.
โ€ข Comfortable working with diverse groups of faculty, staff, and students.
โ€ข Excellent Time-management skills
โ€ข Ability to work independently.
โ€ข Proficient in MS Office
