HERMISTON AREA EMPLOYER LOOKING TO HIRE A PRODUCTION / SANITATION TEAM MEMBER


GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Responsible for performing production work in manufacturing facility. Starts, operates, tends, stops, and cleans equipment and facility. Inspects product to ensure high quality. Maintain sanitation procedures of production machinery, facility, and equipment.


DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION

•Assist with production related activities from startup to shut down of manufacturing lines

•Attend to production line(s) by pulling damaged or ineffective product off automated conveyor, placing items onto automated conveyors

•Ensure conformance to materials specifications by adhering to all plant policies and procedures

•Assist with preparation of facility equipment for cleaning by locking out machinery and covering all electrical equipment with plastic

•Perform all Sanitation activities; clean internal production and external areas while wearing company provided PPE – Personal Protective Equipment (goggles/face shield, chemical gloves, rubber rain suit). Mix chemicals, spray chemical mixtures, use pressure washer, squeegee, sweep, remove debris, dust, scrub, etc. as assigned according to established procedures. Gather trash and transport trash to appropriate containers for disposal

•May be required to disassemble and re-assemble portions of equipment

•Shovel and sweep floor and drains from daily production

•Handle equipment and chemicals in accordance with company, government, and material safety data sheet guidelines

•Comply with organization policies including, but not limited to, Safety, GMP’s, Food Safety, Employment and Work Rules

•Must be able to complete sanitation and/or production documentation (paperwork) accurately

•Take instruction and perform other tasks not specifically listed from Shift Leads and Supervisors to be performed in production and/or sanitation areas


ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Works under minimal supervision. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, talk, hear, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms; occasionally required to climb or balance, regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions, high, and precarious places. Team Members who hold these positions must be willing to work in either cold, damp or hot, humid, and/or noisy environments and these areas may have slippery walking surfaces. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Perform additional various tasks as delegated by Management. Position will require four 10 hour shifts, voluntary/required overtime.


SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

Strong communication skills, excellent teamwork, positive attitude, reliable. Previous work experience in food manufacturing a plus. High school diploma or equivalent preferred
