Job description

Bristol Bay Services, LLC is actively seeking a Benefits Specialist to join our Human Resources team. This team member will serve as an administrator for medical, dental, vision and life insurance benefits for approximately 1700 employees.  This position will work a hybrid home/office schedule requiring attendance multiple days per week in our Huntsville, AL office.  

 Responsibilities

  • Administer and maintain benefits programs such as health, dental, vision, and life insurance benefits.
  • Process enrollments, changes, and terminations accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Serve as a liaison to resolve employee inquiries and disputes.
  • Manage vendor relationships with insurance providers, HRIS systems, and benefits consultants. 
  • Serve as point of contact and provide recommendations for program renewals to include international coverage.
  • Prepare and maintain benefits reports, usage data, and compliance documentation.
  • Reconcile monthly benefit billing and invoices.
  • Coordinate open enrollment to include conducting employee meetings and working with vendors on preparation and distribution of enrollment materials.
  • This position may also perform HR Generalist duties as necessary.   

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of employee benefit programs and related laws.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and customer service skills.
  • Analytical and organizational abilities to manage complex data and processes.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and benefits administration software.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Education and Experience

  • Education: Associate or bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, Healthcare Administration, or related field.
  • Experience: 2–5 years in benefits administration or HR Generalist experience with a focus on benefits.
  • Certifications: SHRM-CP, PHR, CEBS, or GBA preferred.
