DevOps Engineer Co-op 

As a Software Solutions Coop, you develop custom solutions by designing, programming, implementing, and maintaining software solutions to meet business opportunities; you estimate implementation effort and feasibility of incoming improvement ideas through opportunity definition, business process analysis, and requirement gathering; you write highquality, efficient, scalable, and sustainable code according to company best practices within an agile methodology when custom solutions are required; you clearly document all custom solutions by generating documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, data flows, and source code comments; you create job aids and training materials when necessary and provide operational support for a variety of configurable offtheshelf software solutions (COTS) as well as internally developed applications.

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary responsibilities of this role are to:

• Develop custom software solutions to meet business opportunities by designing, programming, implementing, and maintaining software;
• Estimate implementation effort and feasibility of incoming improvement ideas through opportunity definition, business process analysis, and requirement gathering;
• Write highquality, efficient, scalable, and sustainable code according to company best practices within an agile methodology when custom solutions are required;
• Clearly document all custom solutions by generating documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, data flows, and source code comments;
• Create job aids and training materials when necessary;
• Provide operational support for a variety of configurable offtheshelf software solutions (COTS) as well as internally developed applications;
• Interface with technical professionals from other disciplines to spur investment, design, and development of digitalization projects;
• Leverage available cloud services through Azure, Google Cloud, or Amazon AWS where possible to speed up solution delivery;
• Connect site systems to enterprise data warehousing technologies to enable data visualizations, dashboarding, and reporting;
• Build simple to moderately complex data visualizations for KPIs or other performance metrics as defined by internal customers;
• Balance and prioritize work amongst multiple efforts ongoing in parallel.

WHO YOU ARE

Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

Required Qualifications:

• Enrolled or have completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technology field;
• Successfully completed sophomore year or higher;
• Ability to drive to and from the work location;
• Willingness to work in a chemical plant environment;
• Ability to work 40 hours per week and physically willing and able to climb stairs and ladders;
• Available for a minimum 6month Coop assignment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Minimum overall GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.

Employees can expect to be paid a salary of approximately between $24.00 to $43.25. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant).  Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc..  This salary (or salary range) is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant's location, market data/ranges, an applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
