Position Overview

BayCare Medical Group, a physician-led, not-for-profit organization and part of BayCare Health System-the largest academic health system in the region-is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrician to join its growing academic pediatrics team in Tampa, Florida.

This is a unique opportunity to serve in a faculty role within BayCare's Pediatric Residency Program. BayCare is proud to sponsor one of the fastest-growing Graduate Medical Education (GME) programs in the nation, with a strong commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and physician development. This position is ideal for an experienced developmental-behavioral pediatrician who is passionate about medical education, mentorship, and shaping the next generation of pediatricians.

Position Highlights

  • Key faculty role within an established BayCare-sponsored Pediatric Residency Program
  • Serve as Rotation Director for the required Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics rotation
  • Actively contribute to curriculum development and ongoing program evolution
  • Precept pediatric residents in the outpatient clinical setting
  • Provide mentorship and academic guidance to residents in collaboration with the Program Director and core faculty
  • Opportunity to influence program growth, quality, and educational excellence within a supportive, physician-led academic system

Qualifications

Position requires:

  • Current certification in Developmental/Behavioral Pediatrics by the ABP or AOBP
  • Current medical licensure in the state of Florida or eligible for licensure
  • Fellowship training in Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics required
  • Demonstrated interest in teaching, curriculum development, and resident mentorship
  • Academic or teaching experience strongly preferred
