Responsibilities:
The Lab Medical Assistant III is responsible for:
  • Collecting, receiving and processing of inpatient and outpatient specimens for testing
  • Communications with nursing regarding patient specimens
  • Referring specimens to outside laboratories
  • Interaction with physicians, clients and staff regarding referral lab tests
  • Performance of phlebotomy procedures
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Credentials:
  • Driver's License in the State of Florida
  • Required ASPT (Phlebotomy Technicians)
  • Or ASCP
  • Or AMT (Medical Technologists)
  • Or Paramedic
  • Or EMT (Emergency)
  • Or Medical Technologist
  • Or Medical Technologist Eligible to obtain
  • Or LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) in the State of Florida
  • Or RN (Registered Nurse) in the State of Florida

Education:
  • Required High School or equivalent

Experience:
  • 6 months in phlebotomy and 6 months BayCare related - Required
  • 1 year of phlebotomy - Preferred
