Concentric Healthcare Staffing is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Dallas, Texas.

Job Title

Travel Registered Nurse – PCU / IMC / Stepdown (Heart & Spine)

Dallas, TX | Progressive Care Unit (PCU)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Travel | 13 Weeks | Night Shift (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care on a 24-bed PCU within a dedicated Heart & Spine unit, maintaining a 1:3 nurse-to-patient ratio
  • Manage and monitor patients post-CABG, AVR/MVR, aortic root repairs, LVAD, and immediate post-VATS (chest tubes)
  • Care for post-vascular surgery patients and pre/post cath lab and EP procedure patients (pacemaker/AICD, heart caths, PCIs, TAVR)
  • Administer and monitor cardiac drips including Amiodarone, Nitroglycerin, Cardene, and Cardizem
  • Assist with or support bedside procedures including paracentesis, thoracentesis, and PICC insertion
  • Float to Med-Surg/Telemetry and Orthopedic units as needed; document care using Meditech EMR
Required Qualifications
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • BLS certification required
  • ACLS certification required
  • Demonstrated knowledge of cardiac drips (Amiodarone, Nitroglycerin, Cardene, Cardizem)
  • Minimum 1 year of RN experience
  • Strong accountability and professional ownership of patient care outcomes
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Minimum 6 months of PCU-specific experience
  • Experience with Meditech EMR, Baxter IV pumps, Hillrom equipment, and telemetry monitoring
  • Strong communication skills with patients and interdisciplinary care teams
  • Collaborative, team-oriented, and patient-centered approach to care
