Position Description

    The Renewance Battery Service Technician will provide technical assessment of industrial batteries stored at the Renewance service center. The assessment will cover physical, operational and performance. The Battery Service Engineer must be able to understand battery technology, performance and operational attributes of various battery technologies. The selected candidate can expect a fast paced, exciting learning environment through the rapid growth of the business.

    This position is based out of our Elmhurst, IL office and works a 7:00am - 3:00pm schedule. The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $40.00 per hour based on the national average. Pay offered is determined through interview assessments, previous experience and certification, and candidate input.

    Responsibilities

    • Inspect, test and grade industrial and commercial EV batteries for physical and operational performance
    • Execute periodic maintenance required to store batteries per OEM requirements
    • Collect and document validation results (state of health, capacity and open circuit voltage measurements)
    • Install and configure controls-related firmware
    • Responsible and accountable for safety of all personnel
    • Package batteries deemed not usable for recycling (these batteries are to be placed on pallets for shipment to recycling plant)
    • Ability to use mechanical lifting equipment to move batteries in a warehouse environment
    • Work with Customers and Clients to receive orders, resolve issues, and provide quality service results
    • Occasionally support regional field service work on both EV and ESS systems

    Requirements

    • 2+ years relevant experience in maintaining electrical power equipment or energy systems, with consumer, commercial or industrial Electric Vehicles preferred
    • Experience with high voltage or direct current electrical equipment and principles
    • Ability to effectively work as an individual but also coordinate and work with a team
    • Ability to research and develop solutions, documentation and processes
    • Fast learner and capable of executing multiple projects and objectives
    • Demonstrated ability to exceed individual performance goals and to work with a group to achieve team objectives
    • Self-directed, highly detail-oriented, organized, and flexible
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Accomplishments that reflect leadership, teamwork, integrity, and accountability
