The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in assembling, testing, and troubleshooting battery packs, with a strong familiarity with Arbin battery cyclers and Amada and Hesse welding machines. This role involves supporting production operations, ensuring quality standards, and assisting with process improvements in the assembly of advanced energy storage systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble battery modules and packs according to engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Operate Arbin battery cyclers to perform charge/discharge testing, capacity verification, and performance characterization.
  • Perform spot welding, tab welding, and interconnect assembly using Amada and Hesse welding machines while ensuring precision and safety.
  • Inspect and test battery cells, modules, and packs for quality compliance, including voltage, resistance, and thermal checks.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues during assembly and testing, working closely with engineering teams to resolve problems.
  • Document test results, production data, and any non-conformities in accordance with quality standards.
  • Follow ESD, safety, and cleanroom protocols when handling sensitive battery components.
  • Support preventive maintenance and calibration of Arbin cyclers, welding equipment, and other production tools.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing engineers to improve production efficiency and implement process improvements.
  • Assist in training new technicians on battery testing, welding, and assembly processes.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Associate degree or technical certification in aerospace, mechatronics, electronics, or related field (associate degree preferred).
  • 1-3 years of experience in battery pack assembly, testing, or manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in operating Arbin battery cyclers for performance and quality testing.
  • Experience with Amada welding machines (tab/spot welding) and other welding tools.
  • Knowledge of battery chemistries (Li-ion preferred), electrical schematics, and troubleshooting methods.
