Role Summary
We are looking for an experienced Sr. Developer - AS400 to join our technology team in Hyderabad. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in IBM i / AS400 application development, support, and maintenance, along with solid expertise in RPG, RPGLE, CL, DB2/400, and SQL/400. The role involves working on critical business applications, analyzing requirements, developing solutions, and supporting production environments.
Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain AS400 applications.
  • Analyze business requirements and convert them into technical specifications.
  • Develop and support programs using RPG, RPGLE, CL, CLLE, SQLRPGLE, and DB2/400.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and provide timely resolution.
  • Perform code reviews, unit testing, and defect fixes.
  • Work on enhancements, maintenance, and modernization initiatives.
  • Support batch jobs, job scheduling, and system monitoring.
  • Collaborate with business users, analysts, QA, and infrastructure teams.
  • Ensure adherence to coding standards, release processes, and best practices.
  • Prepare technical documentation and support knowledge transfer.

Qualifications
Required Skills
  • 8+ years of experience in IBM AS400 / iSeries development and maintenance.
  • Strong hands-on experience in RPG, RPGLE, CL, CLLE, ILE, and Free Format RPG.
  • Good knowledge of DB2/400, SQL/400, DDS, physical/logical files, and stored procedures.
  • Experience in incident management, problem management, and production support.
  • Familiarity with job scheduling, batch processing, and AS400 utilities.
  • Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities.

Preferred Skills
  • Experience in code migration or modernization from fixed format to free format RPG.
  • Exposure to tools such as IBM Job Scheduler, ROBOT, and change management tools.
  • Knowledge of MQ, Connect Direct, SFTP, or interface integrations.
  • Experience in Agile/Scrum delivery environments.
  • Good communication and stakeholder management skills.

Qualifications
