Part Time Instructor - Guitiar/Bass (MUAP-MUEN-MUSI)
The Blinn College District is searching for a Part Time Instructor - Guitiar/Bass (MUAP-MUEN-MUSI) at our Brenham Campus.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities are listed below:
Job Summary
To provide Guitar and Bass instruction and teach other music courses as assigned/available
Principal Accountabilities
  • Provide private guitar and bass instruction and teach other music courses as
    assigned.
  • Provide instruction for courses at a variety of times and locations.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to student engagement, student success, and instructional
    excellence.
  • Maintain access to students through posted office hours and electronic communication.
  • Prepare and utilize a course syllabus and assessments for each course using
    guidelines established by the institution.
  • Maintain current knowledge of effective teaching methodologies and utilizes a variety
    of instructional delivery methods, classroom media, and educational resources.
  • Evaluate students' performance through a variety of means to measure progress and
    keep them informed in a timely manner.
  • Assist in the development, distribution, and collection of assessments for courses and
    program objectives.
  • Provide recommendations to the Academic Dean, Assistant Dean, Department Heads,
    and Curriculum Resource Team regarding curriculum.
  • Demonstrate a positive and professional relationship with students, colleagues, college
    administration, and the community.
  • Submit timely college reports and forms to the appropriate divisions/departments.
  • Exhibit a commitment to lifelong learning through participation in professional
    development activities.
  • Possess a passion for teaching community college students.
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills, both written and orally.
  • Utilize the college LMS to post grades and other course resources for students.
  • Attend departmental and division meetings.
  • Complete all course grading in a timely manner and according to college and program
    policy.
  • Responsible for other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications/ Required Degree, License or Certifications
Master of Arts in Music OR Master of Music OR Master of Music in Education OR Master's degree with 18 graduate hours in Music.
Minimum Competencies
Ability to establish and maintain effective workingrelationships with other instructors, staff, administration and students.
Ability to instruct students while achieving the course learning objectives.
Preferred Qualifications
Undergraduate teaching experience with Guitar/Bass Students and/or other music lecture courses.
