Job description

Job Summary:
Pacers Sports & Entertainment is seeking a Basketball Front End Developer to assist in building and maintaining a dynamic, user-friendly website for Pacers Basketball, LLC. The role involves collaborating with the Basketball Systems Developer to create visually appealing web interfaces and ensure the website is responsive across devices.
Responsibilities:
• Assist in building and maintaining web pages using HTML, CSS, JavaScript and Python
• Translate SQL and design mockups or ideas into visually appealing and responsive front-end elements.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with website functionality, layout, or design.
• Implement updates and improvements to existing front-end code based on feedback and new requirements.
• Conduct testing to ensure compatibility and performance on various browsers and screen sizes.
• Ensure accurate and fast data retrieval between the database and site.
• Work closely with the Basketball Systems Developer and other team members to display data accurately and efficiently, including some data engineering and back end design.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, web development, information systems, engineering, or related field.
• 1-3 years of relevant front-end experience, internships, or personal projects is a plus.
• Strong foundation in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Experience with Python and familiarity with SQL for integrating front-end with back-end services.
• Experience using Git for version control
• Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Eagerness to learn new technologies, tools, and frameworks as needed.
Preferred:
• Familiarity or willingness to learn Vue.js, general knowledge of front end frameworks considered a plus
• Knowledge or willingness to learn Bootstrap for responsive design and prebuilt components.
• Familiarity with Data Engineering design principles such as ETL, idempotency
