Job description

Position Overview:

The Fan Development Coordinator is responsible for building and implementing marketing efforts to strengthen the Washington Mystics brand through WNBA league-wide platforms, community outreach, fan engagement programs, player/alumni engagement and more.

Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and collaborate in planning, execution and growth of signature initiatives for the Washington Mystics' Community Marketing Programs, including EquipHer, Her Colors, Champions Academy, Assist DC and Mystics Fund.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with program partners, ensuring seamless coordination and flawless execution of all program activations and signature events.
  • Collaborate with the digital marketing team to promote programs and events improving awareness and engagement.
  • Measure, track, and report program outcomes and community impact on a regular basis, including preparing reports for both team leadership and the WNBA League.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with nonprofit organizations, civic groups, and community leaders to develop meaningful engagement opportunities and ensure successful program execution.
  • Coordinate activations, provide marketing and promotional support across the Mystics' platforms, and measure partnership outcomes to improve community impact and organizational visibility.
  • Engage directly with fans and prospective customers to educate them about the Mystics, upcoming games, ticket offerings, and community initiatives.
  • Capture consumer data to build qualified leads, coordinate the distribution of targeted promotional offers and follow-up communications, and track engagement metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of grassroots outreach efforts and drive ticket sales and fan acquisition.
  • Support youth basketball initiatives that grow the Washington Mystics brand by partnering with Monumental Youth Basketball to plan and execute Game Day Clinics, Summer Camp sessions, and community basketball events as part of the District of Play platform.
  • Help deliver engaging experiences that introduce young girls and their families to the Mystics, foster participation in the sport, and strengthen connections to the team.
  • Other duties as assigned. 
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 1+ years of equivalent experience. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Interest in community engagement, sports marketing, fan development, or partnership activation.
  • Seek opportunities to improve our teams' impact on the community.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills, managing multiple events and multiple organizational outreach efforts at once.
  • Excellent analytics skills including tracking and analyzing usage rates.
  • Experience handling budgets.
  • Exceptional work ethic.
  • Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Pay Range: $24.04/hr - $27.43/hr USD
