The Osceola County Office of Emergency Management is hosting a free disaster preparedness course called Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Basic Training. https://G317-26-01.eventbrite.com
This 3 day course is designed to prepare individuals to help themselves, their family, and neighbors in the event of a catastrophic incident. CERT is about doing the greatest good for the greatest number of people.
Students will learn basic skills such as disaster preparedness, disaster medical operations, disaster psychology, fire safety, light search and rescue, and participate in a disaster simulation. A class certificate is provided for those that attend all three days and successfully complete the course.
Training materials and equipment are provided. Students will need to bring lunch; pastries will be provided.
You can reserve a spot Idealist or use the Eventbrite link above. You only need to reserve a spot for 8/22/2026 and your name will be added to the class roster for the 2nd and 3rd day.
