We have an immediate opening for a production support analyst in (Baltimore, MD). The main skills needed are Splunk, AWS, SQL and one scripting language. The interview process will be one and done. It's a 6 month contract w/extensions. This candidate will need to work hybrid schedule in Baltimore, MD day 1 and will be required to work 1 weekend day. . Remote is not an option.
Top requirements:
• Ability to demonstrate solid knowledge in at least one programming language and/or scripting language through work or educational background (Python, PowerShell, Unix shell, etc.) + ability to write basic SQL statements; solid knowledge of SFTP (secure file transfer protocol).
• Ability to write basic Splunk queries and investigate application issues through Splunk logs preferred
• Cloud and AWS knowledge (such as Azure, S3 buckets, New Relic, Splunk, Cloud Watch)
• Production support experience - 247 support, fast paced
Role Summary & Job Responsibilities
• Responsible for swiftly resolving disruptions to technology services to minimize user impacts and maintain service levels
• Evaluates and acts on the production readiness for technology solution implementations and application deployments
• Analyzes performance trends and crafts action plans to address potential impacts prior to impacts occurring
• Demonstrates root cause analysis skills for investigation of incidents impacting technology availability
• 24x7 on-call rotation is required for this role (including off-hour, weekend and holiday coverage)
• Ensures incidents impacting technology availability are resolved within policy standards
• Accountable for your own work and effective coordination of process and information with others
• Works independently within guidelines and policies for ongoing work; may receive general mentoring on new assignments
• Proactively helps team members and makes suggestions to improve practices
• Proactively looks for automation opportunities
• Help shape new technology standards with bringing on new fresh ideas
Business Knowledge
• Possesses fundamental understanding of the tech and financial industries and internal business units to enable navigation of key partners and understanding of impact
Requirements
• Typically requires 2+ years of relevant experience (Production Support/Application Support) working in a technical environment and solving technical issues related to applications, servers, database connectivity, etc.
• Ability to demonstrate solid knowledge in at least one programming language and/or scripting language through work or educational background (Python, PowerShell, Unix shell, etc.) + ability to write basic SQL statements; solid knowledge of SFTP (secure file transfer protocol).
• Requires working and conceptual knowledge of various technical domains (Windows, Unix, Scripting, AWS, Splunk)
• Is adaptable and able to learn quickly
• Shows ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment
• Possesses strong interpersonal skills, as well as, verbal and written communication skills
• Basic knowledge of Automated Scheduler (e.g. Autosys) and batch support preferred
• Ability to write basic Splunk queries and investigate application issues through Splunk logs preferred
• Basic understanding of DNS and Load Balancer concepts preferred
• Basic understanding of Disaster recovery preferred
