Job description

Dawson Civil is looking for an Equipment Operator, who can operate heavy machinery to help build and maintain infrastructure projects such as roads, bridges, and utilities. Ensuring safe operation, perform routine maintenance, and follow engineering plans and safety regulations.

In this role you will be a valued member of Dawson Civil, working in a temporary, full-time position of a Equipment Operator, reporting to the General Superintendent, Civil.  These positions require experienced operators to meet company production objectives and work within specified tolerances. Your base location will be Princeton, BC, and may require travel throughout our great province.


Please note schedule is 14/7 with rotation between days and nights.


WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

  • Must prioritize safety of self and others in all aspects of the job
  • Ability to efficiently operate heavy equipment
  • Ability to read and understand survey stakes is considered an asset
  • Operate heavy equipment in a mining environment in a safe and appropriate manner
  • Perform daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment
  • Ensure a sound understanding of the issues involving ground disturbance
  • Complete daily hazard assessments, maintenance checklists, etc.
  • Attend daily and weekly safety meetings and inspections, and adhere to safety policies

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Minimum three (3) years of experience operating a GPS excavator, dozer, grader is required for these positions
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in road construction or mining preferred
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License required
  • Basic knowledge of road construction materials, road construction processes and industry requirements is an asset
  • Ground Disturbance preferred
