POSITION SUMMARY

Electro Cables, a Nexans company, is growing and is currently hiring for multiple Machine Operator positions to support manufacturing operations at both of our Trenton, Ontario facilities - Sidney Street and Riverside Drive.

These opportunities span a variety of departments and equipment, including but not limited to rewind, cabling, armouring, and fine draw operations.

Machine Operators are responsible for safely operating manufacturing equipment, ensuring product quality meets specifications, and supporting efficient production flow.

WORK LOCATION & FLEXIBILITY

While employees may be initially assigned to a specific department, production line, or primary work location, all Machine Operator roles support operations across both the Sidney Street and Riverside Drive facilities.

Based on business needs and at the discretion of management, employees may be reassigned to different departments, production lines, shifts, or work locations, including movement between both plant locations.

COMPENSATION

The starting wage for this position is $22.66 per hour.
Wage progression is based on the role and department assigned, with rates ranging up to $29.69 per hour following successful completion of training and probationary requirements.

Placement into specific machine roles and corresponding wage progression is determined based on operational needs, as well as the successful candidate's skills, experience, and demonstrated abilities. Not all machine roles reach the maximum rate.

WORK SCHEDULE
This position operates on a rotating shift schedule, which may include:

  • Days

  • Afternoons

  • Midnights

Shifts are scheduled Monday to Friday; however, flexibility is required based on operational needs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operate manufacturing equipment in accordance with procedures and specifications

  • Monitor product quality to ensure standards are met

  • Perform basic measurements using tools such as calipers and micrometers

  • Complete production documentation and reporting as required

  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment

  • Follow all health and safety policies and procedures

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives

  • Perform other duties as assigned to support production requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or machine operation environment is preferred

  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to work with industrial equipment

  • Strong attention to detail and quality

  • Basic computer skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Strong commitment to workplace health and safety

  • Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
