Job description

Part-Time EMT Basic

The Dougherty County EMS Department is hiring on a continuous basis for Part-Time EMT Basic. The purpose of this position is to provide emergency medical treatment to sick or injured persons. This class works under general supervision according to set procedures but determines how or when to complete tasks.

Essential tasks include responding to calls for emergency assistance, operating emergency vehicles, providing emergency medical care to patients, maintaining ambulance and equipment, assessing health status of patients, executing physician's orders, completing forms and reports, participating in public relations and community education programs, and driving ambulance to the scene and to the hospital in a safe manner.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED equivalent and being at least 21 years old. Special certifications and licenses required include a state of Georgia EMT license, Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, and a valid state driver's license with an acceptable driving history.
