Job description

Overview

Theย Licensed Practical Nurseย will focus on providing high level patient-centered care in a physician office setting by measuring and recording vital signs, placing patients in exam rooms, preparing patients for exams/procedures, assisting the health care provider with exams/procedures, providing patient support during exams, maintaining medical supply inventory, and stocking exam rooms. The LPN will also provide patient care by administering medications, processing patient phone calls per practice protocols, instructing patients regarding health care and treatments, and providing health care provider with information pertaining to patientsโ€™ health status. May be required to float to other UFHP practices, as needed, for staffing.ย 

Theย Medical Assistantย provides patient care in a physician's office setting under the direct responsibility of a licensed physician. Clinical skills performed are within the scope of a Medical Assistant as defined by Florida Statutes 458.3485 and UFHP Clinical Policy and Procedure. The MA may also perform clerical, insurance and medical record functions. May be required to float to other UFHP practices, as needed, for staffing.


Qualifications

LPN:ย Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

ย Licensed LPN eligible to practice in the State of Florida. One year of ambulatory care or hospital experience preferred. Person should display initiative and have the ability to multitask. Outstanding patient/customer service skills, verbal clarity, team focus, and problem-solving skills are required for the ideal candidate. Motor Vehicle Operator Designation: Will not operate vehicles for an assigned business purpose Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current Licensed LPN eligible to practice in the State of Florida. Florida is part of the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) Act. AHA or Red Cross Basic Life Support (CPR) is required or must be obtained within first 90 days of employment. Must maintain current Basic Life Support (CPR). Must successfully complete medication test within 30 days of hire.

Licensure/Certification/Registration:ย Current licensure by the State of Florida as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). AHA or Red Cross Basic Life Support (CPR) is required or must be obtained within first 90 days of employment. Must maintain current Basic Life Support (CPR). Must successfully complete medication test within 30 days of hire.

ย Medical Assistant:ย Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:ย 

ย Candidate must be a graduate of an accredited course of study as a Certified or Registeredย Accredited MA certifications include, but are not limited to, AAMA, RMA, NHA, NCCT, AMCA, AAMA and AMT. EMT license can be used in lieu of an MA certification. One year of direct patient care experience in an ambulatory care setting is preferred.ย  Person should display initiative, have the ability to multitask, and be able to assume additional responsibilities.ย  Proven ability to problem-solve and be a team member is essential.

ย Licensure/Certification/Registration:
Must possess and maintain current certification or registration as a Medical Assistant.ย  Basic Life Support (CPR) required or must be obtained within first ninety days of employment.ย  Must maintain current Basic Life Support (CPR).ย  Licensure must be secured through the AHA or Red Cross.

Motor Vehicle Operator Designation:
