Summary of Position: Recruit, plan practices, fundraise, game strategize and supervise players.
Essential Functions
1. Maintain and uphold the College values of Learning, Excellence, Accountability, Diversity, Student Success, Teamwork, Integrity, and Respect. Regular attendance is required.
2. Complete all required College training and responsible for maintaining the skills necessary to complete the essential functions of the position as defined by the department.
3. Student Success is the cornerstone of Western's culture and the college may assign employees as needed to other areas or additional duties to foster this success.
4. Coaching Duties
  • Demonstrate past or current coaching practices/schedules
  • Assist head coach in preparing athletes for competition
  • Assist head coach with recruiting/scouting of future athletes
  • Assist head coach with fundraising efforts
  • Demonstrate communication and supervisory skills to ensure team rules/regulations regarding conduct and eligibility are clearly communicated and followed
  • Knowledge of technique and fundamentals associated with Baseball
  • Knowledge of technical aspects and willingness to continue to learn and examine new ideas pertinent to the sport
  • Model good sportsmanship behavior and maintain appropriate conduct towards opposing team, fans, parents, officials, spectators and community
  • Help grow and expand Baseballprogram

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma
  • Prior knowledge or participation in the sport being coach

Required Certification/License:
  • CPR/AED
