Job Summary:
Provide assistance to the Head Baseball Coach with the recruiting, daily coaching and teaching, game day responsibilities andadministrative duties of the Baseball program.
Essential Functions:
25% Assist with the coaching, evaluation, recruitment and communication process of athletic and academic talented potential Baseball student-athletes.
25% Assist in directing the coaching techniques for the day-to-day Baseball practices and activities and administering the development of off the field academic, social, community service and behavioral skills.
25% Assist with Baseball game day coaching responsibilities including implementing game plan, scouting reports, base coaching and evaluation.
15% Assist with performing various Baseball administrative duties including managing budgets, scheduling, arranging travel, procuring umpires, ordering equipment and fund-raising activities.
10% Cultivate positive relationships with Athletics Department, campus, and surrounding community to encourage external involvement and community pride. Other duties as assigned.
Education:
Requires a relevant Bachelor's Degree.
Experience:
Requires a minimum of 1 year of collegiate and/or professional playing experience and/or up to 1 year experience coaching at the collegiate or professional level. An understanding of college recruiting procedures and the technical fundamentals of Baseball required. Knowledge of NCAA rules and strong motivational and organizational skills required.
