SUMMER SEASONAL T-BALL COACH
Position Job Type:  Seasonal - This position is for the summer season (7-weeks) beginning June 9 and ending July 24, 2026. There will not be any practice or games the week of July 4th.
 


Hours:
Must be available Monday-Thursday for scheduled practices between 5 8 PM at Madison Meadow Park. Friday evenings are reserved for weather-related make-ups. Opportunities for additional work at the end of the season for those interested and available.


Minimum Age Requirement:  16 years old
Pay Range:    $15.50 - $16.50/hr. depending on experience

Our T-Ball Program is looking for enthusiastic, positive, and team-oriented coaches to help lead fun, age-appropriate practices and games with a little friendly competition mixed in. This is a great opportunity to spend the summer doing what you love coaching, mentoring, and inspiring young athletes!




Coaching T-Ball is an ideal way to connect with children, help them develop a love for sports, build skills and confidence, make new friends, and promote teamwork and sportsmanship in a fun, supportive and safe environment.
Job Summary:  

Under the direction and supervision of the Athletics Program Manager, the T-Ball Coach is responsible for the instruction and supervision of an assigned team. Coaches will be paired with an assistant or co-coach and are expected to create a safe, positive, and engaging experience for all participants. Coaches teach the fundamentals of T-Ball and applicable rules while focusing on skill development, teamwork, and fun. Strong communication skills are essential to effectively interact with players, parents, and District staff. Coaches serve as positive role models by demonstrating enthusiasm, reliability, and good sportsmanship. This is an at-will position.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Leading practices and games in a fun, encouraging, and safe manner
  • Teaching basic T-Ball skills, rules, and teamwork
  • Providing age-appropriate instruction and positive feedback
  • Communicating effectively with children, parents, and program staff
  • Responding calmly and appropriately to behavioral challenges or emergencies
  • Assisting with field preparation, setup, and breakdown
  • Supporting participant check-in and check-out
  • Administering basic first aid when needed
  • Attending mandatory coach meetings
  • Completing the full season commitment  
     

Qualifications and Training Expectations:

  • Interest in and enjoyment of working with young children
  • Previous coaching or youth sports experience preferred with knowledge of T-Ball/Baseball
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with children and adults
  • Ability to work collaboratively with co-coaches and supervisors
  • Commitment to promoting a positive and inclusive environment
  • Effective problem-solving skills with a strong sense of safety and the capacity to act calmly and effectively under pressure in difficult or emergency situations.
  • Dependable and flexible with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to maintain discretion with regard to confidential matters and/or information.
  • Regular exposure to various weather conditions including high heat and humidity, cold, wind, rain, etc.
  • Have or become certified in CPR/AED/First Aid within one month of hire.
  • Required to obtain and maintain Mandated Reporter Training, Sexual Harassment & Abuse Prevention Training as well as required safety training.
