Make a difference with the City of Hutchinson!The Seasonal Ball Maintenance Worker assists with the maintenance of ball fields at the Fun Valley Complex, performs mowing duties and maintains department equipment. This employee should possess a strong mechanical aptitude and effective communication and public relation skills. This is a seasonal position. Hours may vary depending on the event schedule. Overtime will occasionally be required.Weekend work will frequently be required. A Day in the Life:Maintains irrigation and moundings. Operates and maintains department equipment including mowers, edgers, trimmers, infield drag, gator, and tractor with groomer. Duties include dragging, marking fields for games and tournament, cleaning bathrooms and other building facilities;Performs grounds keeping duties including mowing, trimming, irrigating and preparation of ball field play. Cleans and removes trash and debris from the ball fields. Assists with repairs and replacement of irrigation valves, sprinklers, and lines; Performs all other duties as deemed necessary or assigned. What You'll Need for Success:EDUCATION: A high school diploma or GED is preferred. . EXPERIENCE: 1 or more years of similar or related experience is preferred. LICENSE: A valid Kansas driver's license is required. Must be at least 16 years of age to apply.
