Job description

Overview:

We are seeking enthusiastic and customer-oriented individuals to join our team as a Baseball Ticket Seller. In this role, you will be responsible for selling game tickets, assisting fans with seating options, processing transactions, and providing excellent customer service. This is a great opportunity for individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment at a baseball stadium. This is a part time, seasonal, game day position.

Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

  • Sell and distribute tickets for baseball games at designated ticket booths or online platforms.
  • Assist customers in selecting ticket options, explaining pricing, promotions, and seating availability.
  • Process cash, credit, and digital payment transactions accurately and efficiently.
  • Address customer inquiries and resolve any ticket-related issues in a professional manner.
  • Verify ticket authenticity and ensure proper scanning procedures at entry points.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales and reconcile cash drawers at the end of each shift.
  • Stay updated on stadium policies, special events, and promotions to assist customers effectively.
  • Follow all company guidelines and security procedures related to ticket sales and handling sensitive customer information.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in customer service, sales, or cashier roles is a plus.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and handle large crowds.
  • Basic math skills and proficiency in handling cash and electronic transactions.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by the game schedule.
  • Passion for baseball and enthusiasm for providing a great fan experience.

Physical Demands:

  • This is a primarily sedentary role but requires the ability to sit at a workstation for extended periods (typically 4-6 hours per shift) while maintaining focus and customer service readiness.
  • Must be able to perform frequent repetitive motions, including typing on a computer keyboard, operating a point-of-sale (POS) system or ticketing software, and handling cash/credit cards.
  • Requires manual dexterity to count currency, organize tickets, and operate office equipment (printers, scanners).
  • May occasionally require the ability to stand, bend, or reach to retrieve ticket stock, supplies, or to assist at a will-call window.
  • Must be able to lift or carry light boxes of supplies or ticket stock, typically under 25 pounds.

Work Conditions:

  • This position works primarily indoors in a climate-controlled box office environment. The space can be confined and may have high customer traffic, especially leading up to game time.
  • The work environment is transactional, public-facing, and can become fast-paced and high-pressure during sales peaks. Interaction with a high volume of customers, some of whom may be frustrated or in a hurry, is a constant condition.
  • Hours are entirely event driven. This requires absolute availability for all home games, which include evenings, weekends, and holidays. Shifts typically begin 60-90 minutes before gates open and may extend through the end of the game. Flexibility for special events, rain delays, or double-headers is required.
  • Must work proficiently on a computer for the entire shift. Adherence to strict financial handling procedures, data privacy rules (for customer information), and ticket sales policies is mandatory.

Benefits:

  • Opportunity to work in an exciting sports environment.
