Our mission is to better the day of hard-working men, and we fulfill this mission through both the products we build and the conversations we create. We have ambitions to become a household brand by taking share from large national players while having fun and giving back to veterans (our cause). We’re looking to hire smart, fun, and wildly talented folks to join us on our journey.

We are currently looking for a seasoned Copywriter to join our in-house creative team. The ideal candidate is someone who can wield language like a scalpel or a bullwhip (depending on the assignment) and work in an energetic and collaborative environment to develop standout copy across multiple touchpoints. Print, packaging, social, digital, video, and A+ content are all in the mix. This role requires both conceptual thinking and attention to detail, as well as the ability to collaborate closely with designers, the marketing team, and additional internal stakeholders.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and edit original, engaging copy for a variety of platforms (product, web, email, social media, scripts, etc.)

  • Edit and proofread copy to ensure high editorial standards

  • Translate complex ideas into concise and persuasive language that resonates with our target audiences

  • Work closely with design and marketing teams to develop and execute integrated campaigns

  • Maintain and evolve the brand voice, ensuring consistency across all touchpoints

  • Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to understand messaging goals and audience needs

  • Participate in brainstorms and contribute to campaign strategy and creative concepts

  • Stay informed about content trends, SEO best practices, and emerging platforms

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong portfolio showcasing a range of creative work across multiple media

  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills

  • Ability to think strategically and write creatively under tight deadlines

  • Deep understanding of brand voice and tone

  • Comfortable presenting ideas and receiving constructive feedback

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Packaging experience is highly preferred

  • Broadcast and social video experience

  • Experience with DTC, content strategy, SEO, and user-centered messaging

  • Experience with a CPG company—whether in-house or as an agency partner

  • Familiarity with tools like Adobe Creative Suite—specifically Photoshop and Illustrator

  • Familiarity with management software like Asana, Wrike, and Sprout

Note: This is an on-site position based in Minneapolis that does involve hours in office Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays.

Duke Cannon Supply Co. offers a fast-paced environment where decisions are vetted quickly, and opportunities are relentlessly pursued.  We work hard, but we value flexibility as well.  We have an informal culture with an emphasis on having fun (we sell soap, after all), though we have the most fun when we exceed our goals. The company’s leaders are dedicated to the growth and development of the team; as such, we want to ensure that our people have a rich and rewarding experience with unique opportunities to grow.

Duke Cannon Supply Co.’s Main Lodge (aka the office) is in Minneapolis’ North Loop, one of the city’s most vibrant and walkable neighborhoods, with award-winning restaurants, fashionable boutiques, live music and Major League Baseball just steps away.
