Job description

The Base Operations Manager oversees Kissing Bridge's Rental Shop and Rotator team, including Rotator responsibilities in Tubing, Parking, and Ticket Checking. This position is responsible for the day-to-day operation, staffing, employee management, and administrative functions of these areas while working closely with Lift Operations and Ticket Sales to ensure safe, efficient, and coordinated base-area operations.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily operations of the Rental Shop and Rotator (Tubing, Parking, and Ticket Checking) functions.
  • Directly manage and support the Rental Shop and Rotator supervisors, establishing clear expectations and holding them accountable for team performance.
  • Recruit, interview, hire, onboard, and train seasonal employees.
  • Develop and manage employee schedules based on business levels, weather, special events, and operational needs.
  • Coach and counsel employees and supervisors; address attendance, conduct, and performance issues and administer disciplinary action when appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate employee, training, scheduling, timekeeping, and disciplinary documentation.
  • Coordinate closely with Lift Operations and Ticket Sales regarding staffing, guest flow, operating conditions, and daily priorities.
  • Adjust staffing and Rotator assignments throughout the day to meet changing needs in Tubing, Parking, Ticket Checking, and other base-area functions.
  • Ensure employees and supervisors follow established safety procedures, guest-service standards, and company policies.
  • Maintain a visible, hands-on management presence and respond to operational challenges and guest concerns.
  • Oversee departmental supplies, equipment readiness, inventory, paperwork, and other administrative responsibilities.
  • Participate in preseason planning, employee training, daily operational meetings, and postseason evaluation.
  • Identify opportunities to improve safety, efficiency, employee performance, and the overall guest experience.
Requirements

Must be available to work weekends, holidays, evenings, and peak operating periods. The position requires frequent movement between indoor and outdoor operational areas and may involve extended periods in winter weather conditions.

The Base Operations Manager is expected to be a visible, engaged leader who leads by example and promotes accountability, teamwork, safety, efficiency, and excellent guest service throughout Kissing Bridge.

Qualifications
  • Previous supervisory or management experience required; experience managing seasonal employees preferred.
  • Experience in ski-area operations, recreation, hospitality, retail, rentals, or a similar guest-service environment preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to recruit, train, schedule, coach, and manage employee performance.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple operational areas and adjust priorities quickly.
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively across departments.
  • Comfortable with scheduling, timekeeping, email, point-of-sale, and other business systems as required.
