About the Role:
As a CBRE Mobile Building Automation System (BAS) Technician, you will be a critical member of our facilities management team, providing expert support and optimization for complex Siemens BAS operations across a portfolio of 10-12 hospital facilities within the Dallas-Fort Worth and North Texas region.
This role focuses on ensuring the proper functioning, energy efficiency, and operational integrity of critical building systems. You will perform routine maintenance, conduct expert troubleshooting, and collaborate closely with onsite BAS Engineers and facility teams to achieve optimal performance and energy savings. This position requires extensive regional travel, for which a company work van will be provided.
What You'll Do:
  • Support a diverse portfolio of BAS programs encompassing connected and separate electrical, mechanical, life, and safety systems critical for facility operation and energy optimization.
  • Travel extensively to assigned hospital facilities (10-12 sites) within the Dallas-Fort Worth and North Texas region using a provided company work van.
  • Collaborate with onsite BAS Engineers and facility teams to ensure optimal equipment operation and achieve maximum energy efficiency.
  • Conduct thorough evaluations and audits of day-to-day BAS system operations, meticulously tracking energy consumption and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Execute all assigned maintenance and repair activities, including reviewing work orders, estimating time and resources, procuring necessary materials, performing repairs (assigned, preventative, and emergency), and accurately completing all required documentation
  • Implement routine maintenance protocols to reduce energy consumption through the optimization of BAS systems.
  • Perform expert troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance on Siemens BAS systems, ensuring peak performance across the assigned portfolio.
  • Provide technical assistance for BAS system software integrations and contribute to system enhancement initiatives.
  • Execute comprehensive testing on BAS systems to monitor and report on performance and efficiency metrics.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain mechanical components such as chillers, air handlers, and pumps integral to HVAC and BAS systems within facilities.
  • Inspect systems to verify equipment operation aligns with design capabilities and meets operational conditions prescribed by the client.
  • Support scope development, initiate work requests, schedule, and inspect work performed by external contractors, including proprietary installations, licensed work, upgrades, and specialized system maintenance.
  • Respond promptly to emergency situations, escalating issues and summoning additional assistance as required.
  • Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency, and company directives related to system operations and work safety..
  • Oversee scope development, work request initiation, scheduling, and inspection of work performed by outside contractors, which includes proprietary work, licensed installations, upgrades, and maintenance and inspection of specialized systems.
  • Participate in all related programs & activities as required. This includes incident investigations, interviews, auditing, and assessment.
  • Apply in-depth knowledge of standard principles and techniques/procedures to accomplish complex assignments and provide innovative solutions.
  • Coach others and share in-depth knowledge of own job discipline and broad knowledge of several job disciplines within the function.
  • Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. Work to build consensus and convince others to reach an agreement.

What You'll Need:
  • High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 4-5 years of progressive experience in Building Automation Systems.
  • In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
  • Prior experience working within healthcare facilities experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Siemens BAS systems. Candidates with extensive general
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • BAS experience may be considered.
  • Strong technical aptitude for diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing complex mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Ability to travel regularly within the Dallas-Fort Worth and North Texas region.
  • Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
  • Ability to exercise judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.
  • Willingness to take a new perspective on existing solutions.
