Role Snapshot

Join our facilities maintenance team as the expert who keeps our steam plant running safely and efficiently. As a Stationary Engineer focused on high‑pressure steam, you’ll oversee critical utilities, tune performance, and protect people, equipment, and uptime.

A Day in the Life

You start by reviewing system trends from the building automation system, scanning gauges, and walking the floor to listen, look, and feel for any deviations. You fine‑tune controls for peak efficiency, log performance data, and execute preventive tasks before small issues become downtime. When an alarm pops, you dig into schematics, trace piping and control circuits, and collaborate with engineering to resolve it—whether it’s a control loop anomaly, a sticky valve, or an HVAC/R interaction.

What You’ll Tackle
  • Run and oversee high‑pressure steam and industrial boilers in strict alignment with safety rules, written procedures, and applicable codes.
  • Continuously track performance via gauges, control panels, and BAS; make precise setpoint and control adjustments to maintain reliability and efficiency.
  • Inspect boilers, pumps, valves, and auxiliaries; use visual checks and diagnostics to spot wear, leaks, vibration, and heat signatures early.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and control issues using technical drawings, schematics, and engineering methods.
  • Record operational readings, maintenance actions, and safety verifications in detailed logs for compliance and reporting.
  • Carry out preventive maintenance—cleaning, lubrication, calibration, and scheduled component swaps—to ensure continuous service.
  • Apply basic welding techniques for minor repairs on boiler components and associated piping when required.
  • Read and interpret P&IDs and wiring diagrams to guide accurate fixes and system improvements.
  • Partner with engineering on complex problems involving hydraulics, HVAC/R interfaces, and building automation controls.
  • Champion safety around high‑pressure steam equipment; take part in safety trainings, drills, and audits.

  • Hands‑on background running high‑pressure steam boilers in an industrial or large commercial environment.
  • Solid mechanical aptitude across boiler mechanics, industrial equipment repair, and root‑cause troubleshooting.
