Position Overview:

The Logistics Coordinator for Ecoservices in Baton Rouge, LA is responsible for coordinating inbound and outbound transportation activities to support safe, efficient, and reliable plant operations. This position manages rail, truck, and barge logistics; coordinates raw material deliveries and product shipments; maintains transportation and inventory records; supports regulatory compliance requirements; and serves as a backup resource for logistics operations at the Waggaman facility. The Logistics Coordinator works closely with carriers, suppliers, customers, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely deliveries, accurate documentation, and uninterrupted production while driving continuous improvement across logistics processes. Approximately 20% travel is required.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments via rail, truck, and barge to support production requirements and customer commitments
  • Schedule and monitor sulfur and caustic deliveries to maintain appropriate inventory levels and uninterrupted plant operations
  • Manage the railcar fleet dedicated to the Baton Rouge facility, including tracking railcar movements and optimizing equipment utilization
  • Communicate with railroad carriers to coordinate railcar activity and ensure timely movement of inbound and outbound shipments
  • Monitor, analyze, and report rail demurrage performance while identifying opportunities to reduce costs
  • Collect, review, and maintain shipping documentation, including bills of lading, receipts, manifests, and transportation records
  • Enter and reconcile shipment, delivery, and inventory information within company systems and transportation platforms
  • Coordinate unloading schedules and product receipts with internal teams, suppliers, and customers
  • Prepare and manage barge shipping documentation, inventory calculations, and product receipt records to support accurate billing
  • Investigate and resolve transportation, shipment, invoice, and vendor billing discrepancies in a timely manner
  • Assist with customer inquiries and support resolution of logistics-related service issues and complaints
  • Maintain transportation, regulatory, and product stewardship records to ensure compliance with company and industry requirements
  • Crosstrain in multiple logistics functions and provide backup support for the Waggaman facility as required
  • Participate in daily operational and safety meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the logistics function


Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required. Associate degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field preferred
  • 4+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, supply chain coordination, or a related field. Experience within a chemical, manufacturing, refinery, or industrial environment is preferred
  • Experience coordinating rail, truck, or barge transportation activities preferred
  • Valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) or the ability to obtain one
  • Working knowledge of transportation, shipping, receiving, and inventory management processes
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate records and documentation
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Outlook, and Word
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate across departments and with external carriers and vendors
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team while maintaining a high level of customer service
  • Ability to participate in on-call rotation and travel approximately 20% as business needs require
  • Ability to complete required DOT Hazmat, safety, and regulatory training
