Job Summary: Cubiscan is seeking a thorough, dependable, and detail-oriented Field Service Technician-Automation Systems to install, service, and support material‑handling automation equipment at customer locations throughout the United States. This position requires frequent travel, strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, effective troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work independently following training.

Equipment may include dimensioning and weighing systems, automated barcode scanners, automatic label print‑and‑apply systems, conveyor and sortation equipment, mechanical support structures, and automation control systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Cubiscan and related automation equipment, including dimensioning systems, barcode scanners, conveyors, sortation systems, label print‑and‑apply systems, and control components.
  • Assemble, wire, test, stage, and prepare equipment for shipment and installation.
  • Read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical diagrams, wiring schematics, logic drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Assist with the production, assembly, or testing of additional Cubiscan systems as needed.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, electrical, control, and mechanical issues on‑site and through remote support.
  • Perform customer installations, maintenance, repairs, and ongoing service work.
  • Train customers and distributors on system operation, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair.
  • Document service activity, customer support incidents, project details, inventory, and reimbursable expenses.
  • Follow company and customer safety procedures and assist with other production or project needs as assigned.
Travel and Work Schedule
  • This position requires frequent on‑site work at customer locations, generally involving approximately 50% to 75% travel outside of Utah.
  • Overtime is common and may vary based on project schedules, installation requirements, and customer needs.
  • Occasional weekend work, extended workdays, and multiple consecutive days away from home may be required.
Education and Experience:
  • Technical certificate or associate degree in automation, electronics, mechatronics, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience with automation equipment, PLCs, electrical wiring, schematics, and electronic testing preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting ability, and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong communication, organization, and customer‑training skills.
  • Dependable, safety-minded, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
