Barbers can earn a variable income depending on experience, location, and clientele, with many earning an hourly wage plus tips. Is being a barber a 9-5 job?

Being a barber often involves flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as many clients prefer after-work appointments. The job typically requires standing for long periods and may include part-time or full-time hours based on the establishment's needs.

Many barbers also need to complete licensing requirements and use tools like scissors and clippers in their work environment.
