Job description

The Palm Beach County Attorney's Office (CAO) seeks a skilled attorney with a diverse legal background to serve as counsel to the Palm Beach County Fire Rescue Department. This position provides legal guidance on a wide range of matters, including human resources, policy development and review, labor relations, employment practices, and training initiatives. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the Department's mission by ensuring compliance, promoting best practices, and fostering effective management of personnel and operational issues.
QUALIFICATIONS
Membership in The Florida Bar in good standing and an excellent academic record are required. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in contract negotiations, employment law, and employment arbitration. However, exceptional candidates with less experience who demonstrate outstanding legal ability, judgment, and professionalism will be considered.
The successful candidate will possess the ability to collaborate with Human Resources in developing and delivering training programs informed by risk assessments, emerging industry trends, and departmental priorities. This position also requires providing sound legal counsel to both administrative leadership and elected officials.
Candidates must demonstrate a strong work ethic, exceptional judgment, interpersonal skills, and thrive in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
