Pediatric Physical Therapist

As a Pediatric Physical Therapist, you will provide compassionate care to our patients and their families every day. You will organize and conduct medically prescribed therapy programs to restore function and prevent/minimize disability following developmental delay, disease, injury, or loss of body part. You will help patients reach maximum performance and assume a place in society while learning to live within the limits of his/her capabilities. You will develop and maintain positive relationships with our patients, guests, other team members, and medical staff by striving for excellence in service and quality. You will be responsible for:

  • Practicing Physical Therapy consistent with the American Physical Therapy Association Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice.
  • Respecting and understanding the patient's right to treatment and right to be involved in treatment decisions.
  • Evaluating, testing, and administering therapy programs for each patient to improve physical function, mobility, health and wellness and reduce pain and discomfort. Using physical means, such as exercise, massage, heat, ice, water and electricity, as prescribed by the physician.
  • Attending to specific patient variables such as motivation and stamina in planning treatment programs as well as developing rehabilitation goals and objectives that are measurable, described in functional or behavioral terms, and include estimated or relevant time frames for achievement, considering the anticipated discharge. You will complete all appropriate documentation to maximize financial remuneration.
  • Conferring with the person(s) most closely associated with the active management of the patient and keeping them informed of any additional patient needs, treatment modifications and/or progress.
  • Completing special projects in the area of ergonomics as a biomechanical specialist – evaluating job descriptions to determine specific daily routines and areas of repetitive movements and providing training to address ergonomic safety concepts and proper body mechanics.
  • Serving as an educator and resource for patients, clients, families, care givers and other direct care providers to assess, instruct, correct, and/or provide information about practice skills and techniques.
  • Participating in the improvement of patient satisfaction, job specific processes, or procedures. Organizes personal time requirements and demonstrates ability to establish priorities for maximum efficiency.

What you will need:

  • Bachelor's of Science, Master's of Science, or Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy
  • Previous experience in an acute care setting, skilled nursing and outpatient preferred.
  • Current Georgia licensure to practice Physical Therapy.
