Job description

A private Club, located on the North Shore’s Lakefront near Evanston, is seeking SERVICE STAFF – Banquet Servers for their busy Member and Banquet Dining. Experience preferred, willing to train. Need extra income? This is for you. We offer an hourly pay rate of $18-$22 (No Tips) and a quality, pleasant, team-oriented work environment. This position requires working on nights, weekends, and some holidays, given the nature of the business.

Job Task and Duties:

  1. Performs pre- and post-shift duties, sets up side stations, and performs assigned side work.
  2. Checks assigned tables for proper and complete table setting and layout per the banquet set-up sheet.
  3. Provides immediate attention to all members/guests upon arrival of function.
  4. Has knowledge of all menu items.
  5. Take beverage orders correctly.
  6. Serve beverages to guests on the right-hand side.
  7. Serve all food from the left-hand side with your left hand.
  8. Clear all plates from the right with your right hand.  Never stack dishes.
  9. Pours and refills wine, water, coffee, and/or other beverages served with and after the meal.
  10. Continually monitor your table. You are the server, and you must be on the floor at all times.
  11. Assists in closing function by performing various tasks; bussing glasses, dishes, silverware, removing votives, and linen.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of previous restaurant experience required
  • Maintain a BASSET and ServSafe Food Handlers Certification.
  • Extensive knowledge of food and beverage preparation and handling.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient with Point of Sale systems 
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds and carry trays of food weighing up to 25 pounds.
