Job Title: Investment Banking & Capital Markets - Industrials - Banker

Overview

Our Investment Banking & Capital Markets business provides the full range of investment banking products and services for large-cap and mid-cap corporates and financial sponsors. Our product offering to our clients consists of comprehensive financial advisory and capital-raising services, including mergers & acquisitions (M&A), underpinned by one of the world's largest and most successful global debt and equity capital markets platforms. Our range of services and strong global presence enables us to complete large, multi-dimensional cross-border, and regional transactions.

Deutsche Bank is currently in an exciting phase of its growth journey having just released its new corporate strategy in November 2025 focused on continued growth and investment in its Investment Banking & Capital Markets division. Under this strategy and 2028 plan, the Industrials team is a core sector focus for investment.

What You'll Do

  • Support execution of live transactions for the Industrials coverage team, including preparation of detailed memoranda and presentations, and analyze the key attributes of client companies
  • Apply financial, economic, quantitative, and qualitative methods and principles to evaluate and execute acquisitions, financings, and equity raising transactions
  • Develop and apply advanced financial analyses and models
  • Participate in client interactions / meetings for both deal origination and execution
  • Issue client interaction reports to senior management and maintain ongoing communication

How You'll Lead

  • Experience in working with senior level management maintaining confidentiality
  • Work with teams of senior and junior bankers, analysts in a cross-collaborative environment
  • Leadership skills with the capacity to take initiative as well as assume responsibility
  • Create a positive, effective team-based work environment conducive to open communications, taking initiatives, and collaborative problem-solving team culture

Skills You'll Need

  • Proven experience in deal execution providing quantitative and analytical support for M&A and capital markets transactions (IPOs, equity follow-ons, investment grade and leveraged finance debt offerings) in the Industrials sector
  • Experience supporting senior bankers across all stages of a transaction lifecycle, including pitching and bake off, preparing marketing materials and financial models and deal execution
  • Background in the Industrials sector (academic and/or work experience) ideal but prior deal execution experience is a must
  • Bachelor's degree (advanced degree preferred)
  • Series 79, 63 licensing preferred

  • Performing detailed financial modeling and valuation analyses on public and private companies
  • Performing in-depth company and industry research to support deal origination and execution

The salary range for this position in Chicago is $125,000 - $200,000. Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications.
