DESCRIPTION:
Duties: Design, develop and implement software solutions. Solve business problems through innovation and engineering practices. Involved in all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) including analyzing requirements, driving architectural decisions, incorporating architectural standards into application design specifications, documenting application specifications, translating technical requirements into programmed application modules, and developing or enhancing software application modules. Identify or troubleshoot application code-related issues. Build and govern real-time data pipelines and streaming applications. Champion event-driven architectures and integration patterns. Take active role in code reviews to ensure solutions are aligned to pre-defined architectural specifications. Assist with design reviews by recommending ways to incorporate requirements into designs and information or data flows. Participate in project planning sessions with project managers, business analysts, and team members to analyze business requirements and outline proposed solutions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field of study plus 7 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Technical Leader, IT Consultant, or related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field of study plus 5 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Technical Leader, IT Consultant, or related occupation.
Skills Required: This position requires experience with the following: building real-time data pipelines and streaming applications using Apache Kafka; designing and developing high availability, cloud-native applications using Java and the spring framework; working with relational and NoSQL databases including Oracle and MongoDB; developing dynamic and responsive user interface using React, Angular, and CSS to build high performing, scalable API Microservices for complex business scenarios; driving system integration across multiple platforms, services, and third-party systems; performance tuning for large scale enterprise applications including optimization, latency reduction, and capacity planning; implementing observability practices including monitoring, logging, and distributed tracing for production systems, using GIT for version control and implementing branching and merging strategies; applying secure coding practices including authentication, authorization, and data protection mechanism; ensuring data integrity and consistency across distributed platforms; implementing API security and versioning strategies; leading design and implementation of caching strategies and distributed data layers; implementing unit testing using JUNIT; implementing web applications testing using Selenium; migrating monolith applications such as mainframe applications to microservices architectures; leading technical design and designing multi-tier and multi-regional architecture; mentoring engineering teams.
