Are you ready to shape the future of commercial banking in a high-impact leadership role? We're seeking a dynamic State Director to lead and grow our commercial banking business across a key market-driving strategic expansion, elevating performance, and overseeing a broad, sophisticated loan portfolio.

Job Description

The Director, Commercial Banking is primarily responsible for managing and directing the overall sales, service and business development efforts in an assigned geographical region; manages the loan portfolio.  This includes making and servicing a wide variety of business and individual loans, both secured and unsecured, the majority of which involve large amounts of money and/or direct business owners. Leads and develops Market Managers, Team Leaders, and Relationship Managers in their solicitation of new business and management of current business relationships.  Functions as a financial advisor regarding the full array of Commercial and Wealth Management products and services that will meet client needs; supports consumer, trust, treasury services, international and other BOKF business partners. This position is typically responsibility for the management of one particular state and/or defined geographical area.

How You'll Spend Your Time
  • You will direct commercial lending and sales/service activities within your region, setting clear priorities and managing resources to achieve growth objectives.
  • You will recruit, train, coach, and evaluate team members, building a high-performing commercial banking team.
  • You will drive business development by cultivating new relationships and deepening existing ones through targeted outreach and strategic marketing efforts.
  • You will develop annual plans, budgets, and staffing strategies aligned with organizational goals and compliance standards.
  • You will design and implement sales/service programs to achieve departmental targets, using financial data to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • You will represent the bank in the community, enhancing our reputation and expanding business opportunities.
  • You will assess and recommend updates to policies, procedures, and programs to improve efficiency and provide clear guidance to staff.
Education & Experience Requirements

This level of knowledge is normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor's Degree in a business related field and 9-10 years' experience in a sales management/supervisory capacity in a financial institution, or equivalent experience of 15-16 years. Preferences: Sales aptitude/self-motivated/goal oriented; Proven record of meeting or exceeding sales objectives.
