Job description

JOB SUMMARY:

The Mortgage Sales Manager leads the Bank’s residential mortgage sales organization, driving production growth, market expansion, and portfolio quality across assigned regions. This role oversees Mortgage Loan Officer performance, develops referral networks, ensures compliance with lending regulations and credit standards, and partners with leadership to achieve the Bank’s strategic growth objectives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide executive leadership for residential mortgage production strategy across designated markets, ensuring alignment with the Bank’s strategic plan, growth objectives, and risk tolerance.
  • Serve as a senior officer and trusted advisor to executive leadership on market conditions, production trends, competitive intelligence, pricing strategy, and product offerings.
  • Participate in executive, leadership, and management committees as assigned; contribute to enterprise‑level decision‑making and strategic planning.
  • Establish performance benchmarks, KPIs, and accountability frameworks for mortgage sales leadership and originators.
  • Lead and oversee regional mortgage production efforts, including prospecting strategies, referral channel development, and community engagement initiatives.
  • Maintain senior‑level relationships with key real estate, builder, attorney, and financial partner networks; serve as an executive ambassador for the Bank in the communities served.
  • Ensure consistent execution of sales disciplines, referral strategies, and market plans to drive sustainable, high‑quality production and market share growth.
  • Support and participate in high‑impact client, realtor, and builder engagements, including complex or high‑profile transactions.
  • Directly manage and develop MLO’s, setting clear expectations for performance, culture, and ethical conduct.
  • Oversee recruiting, selection, onboarding, coaching, performance management, and succession planning for the mortgage sales organization.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, inclusion, collaboration, continuous improvement, and fair lending throughout the mortgage function.
  • Sponsor leadership development initiatives and ensure bench strength across key markets.
  • Ensure mortgage production activities adhere to all applicable federal and state regulations and Bank policies, including but not limited to ECOA, HMDA, TILA, RESPA, ATR/QM, FCRA, GLBA, SAFE Act, BSA/AML, UDAAP, Flood, and Fair Lending requirements.
  • Partner with Risk, Compliance, Credit, and Audit to address regulatory findings, mitigate risk, and strengthen controls.
  • Maintain executive oversight of pipeline quality, documentation integrity, pricing discipline, and Secondary Market eligibility.
  • Own and ensure execution of Business Continuity Plans (BCP) for areas of responsibility, including periodic testing, remediation, and leadership‑level reporting.
  • Collaborate closely with Underwriting, Processing, Closing, Post‑Closing, Secondary Marketing, Finance, and Technology to enhance efficiency, quality, and customer experience.
  • Resolve escalated production, operational, and customer issues to protect the Bank’s reputation and ensure timely closings.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives related to systems, workflows, training, and service delivery.
  • Monitor and report on production metrics including volume, pull‑through, cycle time, fallout, market share, customer satisfaction (NPS/CSAT), cross‑sell activity, and quality/defect rates.
  • Use analytics to identify trends, risks, and opportunities; adjust strategy and resource deployment accordingly.
  • Ensure CRM and LOS data integrity and enterprise‑level reporting accuracy.
  • Adheres to Seacoast Bank’s code of conduct.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field required.
  • Master’s degree (MBA or similar) preferred.
  • Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in residential mortgage lending, including significant leadership responsibility.
  • 7+ years of senior management experience leading mortgage production teams across multiple markets.
  • Demonstrated success driving large‑scale production growth while maintaining strong credit quality and compliance outcomes.
  • Extensive experience with Secondary Market guidelines (Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac), portfolio lending, and complex mortgage transactions.
  • Proven history of working effectively with regulators, auditors, compliance partners, and executive leadership.
  • Active NMLS registration in good standing required.
  • Executive‑level leadership, influence, and decision‑making capabilities.
  • Strong strategic planning, financial acumen, and analytical skills.
  • Deep understanding of mortgage credit, pricing, risk management, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Exceptional relationship‑building, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to lead through change, manage competing priorities, and operate effectively in a fast‑paced, performance‑driven environment.
  • Advanced proficiency with mortgage LOS, CRM platforms, and performance analytics tools.
