Job description

The Role

ScaleView Partners is seeking an Investment Banking Associate to join our Austin team and play a central role in advising founder-led software companies on M&A and growth capital transactions.

As an Associate, you will work directly with senior bankers across every phase of a transaction, from financial analysis and positioning through buyer outreach, diligence, negotiation, and closing. This is a highly execution-oriented role with significant client exposure, meaningful responsibility, and the expectation that you will contribute judgment and insight, not simply produce materials.

About ScaleView Partners

ScaleView Partners is a technology-focused investment bank built for founders, by founders. We advise capital-efficient, founder-led software companies on M&A and growth capital transactions.

Our perspective is shaped by having sat on every side of the table as entrepreneurs, investment bankers, private equity investors, and strategic acquirers. We combine deep transaction experience and software expertise with an understanding of what it means for a founder to navigate one of the most consequential decisions of their career.

What You'll Do

  • Execute transactions from start to finish. Help drive M&A and capital-raising processes from engagement kickoff through closing, owning key workstreams and keeping transactions moving.
  • Analyze software businesses. Build and interpret the analyses that matter in software M&A, including ARR bridges, cohort and retention analyses, churn, revenue quality, customer concentration, unit economics, operating models, and valuation.
  • Turn analysis into insight. Go beyond producing numbers. Identify the key drivers of growth, retention, profitability, and valuation, surface potential issues before buyers do, and help translate complex financial data into a clear investment narrative.
  • Develop compelling transaction materials. Create Confidential Information Memoranda, management presentations, buyer materials, and other deliverables that clearly articulate a client's business, market opportunity, financial profile, and strategic value.
  • Work directly with clients and counterparties. Participate actively in client calls, management meetings, buyer discussions, and diligence sessions as a contributing member of the deal team.
  • Drive transaction processes. Coordinate data rooms, diligence requests, buyer communications, and workstreams across management teams, investors, legal counsel, accountants, and other advisors.
  • Support business development. Contribute to pitches, company and market research, valuation work, and other initiatives that help ScaleView win new engagements and deepen relationships with software founders.

What We're Looking For

  • 2 to 4 years of investment banking experience, with meaningful exposure to software or SaaS transactions. Experience advising founder-led companies in the lower middle market is a plus.
  • Strong SaaS financial and analytical skills. You can build and pressure-test the models and analyses that matter in software M&A, including recurring revenue, retention, cohort behavior, unit economics, revenue quality, and valuation.
  • The ability to turn numbers into a story. You can move from a large dataset or financial model to the handful of insights that actually matter. You understand what drives value, what sophisticated buyers will scrutinize, and how to translate a company's financial performance into a credible, compelling investment narrative.
  • Excellent communication skills. You write clearly, communicate concisely, and are comfortable interacting with founders, CEOs, senior investors, and other transaction professionals.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ownership. You catch errors before they leave your desk, anticipate what needs to happen next, manage workstreams proactively, and hold yourself to a high standard.
  • Sound judgment and intellectual curiosity. You ask good questions, challenge assumptions, and want to understand why a business performs the way it does rather than simply reporting the numbers.
  • Genuine interest in software and entrepreneurship. You are curious about technology, business models, and markets and are energized by working closely with founders who have built meaningful businesses.
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, engineering, or a related field.

Why Join ScaleView Partners?

  • Responsibility from day one. You will work on small deal teams with direct exposure to clients, buyers, and senior bankers. You will be expected to contribute, not sit in the background.
  • Work that matters. Help founders navigate transactions that can represent years or decades of work and some of the most important financial and professional decisions they will make.
  • Accelerated development. Gain exposure to the full transaction lifecycle and develop the analytical, execution, communication, and judgment skills required to become a senior banker.
  • A clear growth trajectory. Join a growing firm where strong performers can take on increasing responsibility quickly and build their careers as the firm scales.
  • A founder-oriented culture. Work alongside senior bankers who have built, operated, invested in, and sold technology companies, in an environment that values initiative, curiosity, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Competitive compensation and benefits. Base salary plus performance-based bonus, along with health, dental, and vision coverage, a 401(k), paid holidays, and generous PTO.
