Job Summary: Minnwest Bank is seeking a Full Time Advanced Universal Banker for our Ortonville location. The Advanced Universal Banker is responsible for providing all Minnwest Bank customers with a professional and courteous customer experience, from sales to service. Develop an understanding of bank products and services to provide options and solutions to satisfy customers' financial needs. This position assists customers with requests related to opening new accounts, submit credit applications for consumer loans, and handle customer deposit transactions. This position will inform customers of products and services to transition customers and prospects to bankers and business partners for retail and business products and services, as well as service existing account relationships.


This position may require travel to various branches to provide adequate staffing coverage due to unexpected staffing needs as well as to the Minnwest Bank Training Center in Eagan, MN for Universal Banker Training. 


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide prompt and courteous customer service by identifying and recommending bank products and services to fulfill their needs.
  • Open new consumer deposit accounts, cross-sell bank products and services, and accurately prepare and process all deposit account paperwork for new and existing customer accounts. 
  • Interact with customers to build relationships to promote and identify cross-selling opportunities to achieve individual, team, and organizational sales and service goals.
  • Process transactions as requested while remaining compliant in multiple bank policies, regulations, and laws.
  • Proactively transition customers and prospects opportunities to achieve individual, team and organizational sales and service goals.
  • Assist customers with account changes or inquires as well as any issues or questions they may have.
  • Maintain knowledge of all bank products and services.
  • Comply with Minnwest Bank policies and procedures as well as state and federal banking laws and regulations.
  • This position requires Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) at time of employment or obtain within 6 months of employment.

Schedule:

Full-time 40 hours per week

Monday - Friday: 8am - 5:00pm

Rotating Saturdays: 9am - Noon


Workplace Environment:

  • Requires face-to-face interaction and coordination of work with customers, other employees and departments, and in-person interaction.
  • Working at a computer and utilizing a telephone
  • Occasionally lifting up to 50lbs

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School diploma 
  • 1 year of consumer lending experience
  • 1 to 2 years' experience selling products and services
  • Knowledge of bank products
  • Advanced reading, writing, and mathematical skills
  • Ability to communicate with customers and coworkers in a clear, effective professional manner.
  • Willing to continuously learn and grow within the organization.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2-year associate degree 
  • 2 to 5 years of previous consumer lending experience, including Home Equity Line of Credit
  • Ability to multi-task, be organized, effective time management.
  • Is able to work independently and make decisions by analyzing complex information to determine next steps. 
  • Strong mathematical and problem-solving skills. 

Pay Range: $24.80 - $27.90/hour

  • Paid Bonus Program for Universal Bankers when the different levels of training have been completed and proficient in tasks
