Job Description

Internal Job Title: Security Guard

Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Location: Danville, Virginia

Work Model: On-site

Wage: $21.22/hr

Position Summary

As a Security Guard with CBN Secure Technologies Inc., you will be tasked with protecting employees, our assets and the integrity of our secure facilities. You will achieve this by manning an Integrated Security Operations Center (ISOC) and effectively operating and troubleshooting the internal/external security and life-safety systems, identifying and addressing threats to the security of employees and operations.

Responsibilities

Security Monitoring & Patrol

  • Perform regular internal/external building security patrols and monitor security cameras to ensure that mandated security and health and safety procedures are being adhered to across the building and grounds.
  • Ensure the security of our facility and assets by monitoring incoming/outgoing deliveries and shipments. Visually inspect personnel's purses, bags, toolboxes, etc., on departure from the facility to ensure no unauthorized material is removed.

Incident Response & Emergency Management

  • Act as a first responder and react quickly and effectively to emergency situations (fire, flood, chemical, medical, criminal, etc.) by initiating and following established emergency management plans to protect and preserve life, assets and the facility.
  • Investigate identified security and health and safety threats and building maintenance issues, communicate them to the ISOC and report them to management.

Reporting & Documentation

  • Prepare and submit incident/occurrence reports for security and health and safety-related incidents and communicate and escalate accordingly.
  • Complete daily shift reports and maintain a notebook of your recorded observations regarding potential security or health and safety related threats pertaining to facility issues or personnel behaviours.
Qualifications

Mandatory Requirements

  • Legally eligible to work in the United States
  • DCJS Registration as Special Conservator of the Peace (SCOP) with an Armed Endorsement
  • First Aid/CPR/AED certification
  • Ability to pass a CBN STI background check
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts (weekdays/weekends) and the ability to work overtime
  • Ability to work on your feet for prolonged periods

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Knowledge of the following:
    • Integrated Security Operations Center operations
    • CCTV systems
    • Access control systems
    • Security Audits
  • Basic computer literacy
  • 5+ years of experience in an Armed Security role (or equivalent)
