Job description

The Business Solutions Analyst II designs and delivers technology-enabled business solutions that help the Bank's business lines achieve strategic, operational, and regulatory objectives. Applies technical expertise to optimize business activities, enhance applications, and strengthen data reporting. Independently develops solutions that combine data controls, reporting, and analytics to improve business processes, ensure compliance, and align technology services with performance goals.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Serves as an advisor and liaison between Bank users and third-party partners, facilitating communication for data-related initiatives, and translating requirements into effective models and visualizations.
  2. Coordinates with the Enterprise Data Management team to ensure reliable data access and reporting integrity.
  3. Creates and maintains data analytic dashboards, reports, applications, and processes to enhance efficiency, enable data-driven decisions, and focus on service delivery for business stakeholders.
  4. Maintains moderately complex forecasting models and statistical analyses to improve operational and regulatory reporting.
  5. Provides focused support for application and business processes used across the Bank.
  6. Documents workflows and solutions to improve consistency and service quality.
  7. Upholds data quality through regular audits, validation checks, and thorough documentation.
  8. Collaborates with other departments and technical staff across the Bank to deliver process automation and optimized reporting solutions; meeting the growing demand for predictive insights, strategic dashboards and metrics, and increasing compliance requirements.
  9. Ensures all data handling and processing complies with legal and Bank standards. Stays up-to-date with industry trends and regulatory changes affecting data use in financial services.
  10. Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent years of work experience, required.
  • 3-5 years' experience in business or data analysis, application support or related technical role, required.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver reporting and business solutions independently, required.
  • Prior experience within the banking, financial services, or payments industry, strongly preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Hands-on experience with Power BI, Cognos, or similar analytics platforms, with demonstrated ability to design and enhance dashboards and reports that support business processes and service delivery.
  • Working knowledge of ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) concepts and ability to partner with data and application specialists to ensure accurate, reliable reporting.
  • Background in automation tools to improve reporting timeliness, data integrity, and business process efficiency.
  • Experience applying forecasting methods and advanced analytics to strengthen business decision-making and compliance reporting.
  • Applied knowledge of emerging analytics or machine learning concepts, with a focus on practical, business-oriented applications.
  • Working knowledge of data modeling and application workflows to support effective reporting and process improvement.
  • Skilled in writing complex SQL queries to extract and manipulate data across relational databases.
  • Experience with Python, especially for automation, data transformation, and process optimization.
  • Familiar with APIs and data validation/security controls for integrating data flows and ensuring integrity, reliability, and protection.
