Job description

Coordinate and complete the closing of first and second mortgage loans in accordance with established policies and procedures, regulatory requirements and investor guidelines.


  • Prepare all closing documents required to close mortgage loans, ensuring documentation is complete and accurate; follow up on any discrepancies.
  • Ensure that all loans meet guidelines for quality and regulatory compliance and investor closing standards.
  • Maintain communication with customers, the processing department, closing agents, realtors, and builders to promote positive business relationships and communicate loan status.
  • Establish and maintain a thorough knowledge of all products and investor requirements to ensure quality closing packages and secondary market salability.
  • Verify that loans close as scheduled.
  • Review files prior to closing to verify that abstracts and/or title opinions are clear; forward copies to all parties involved; review all surveys, termite inspections, final inspections, and verify the accuracy of closing conditions.
  • Close loans; input information into the loan origination system, prepare additional documentation, balance account for closing, prepare package for closing agent and/or customer, and ensures timely recording of all documents and disbursement of all funds.
  • Prepare and explain closing requirements to closing agents and/or customer.
  • Protect Bank collateral by reviewing and analyzing title work to verify that all liens are clear.
  • Review and verify executed closing packages to ensure all documents are signed appropriately and all fees are included with the package.
  • Maintain knowledge of all mortgage lending and compliance policies and procedures.
  • Complete all required paperwork and forms in an accurate and timely manner; prepare all required reports.

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of related experience required.
  • Thorough working knowledge of real estate documentation, policies, compliance, and procedures.
  • High level of proficiency with mortgage loan processing and underwriting systems.
  • Experience closing mortgage loans in New York and New Jersey required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required.
  • Excellent customer service skills.

COMPENSATION:  $60,000 TO $80,000 annually.
