Job Description:

This Job is responsible for developing capabilities such as models, analytical tools, and testing scripts that provide timely, actionable insight on the operational health of Bank of America's processes. Key responsibilities include working with process owners to understand data, process flows, and controls, and identify risks to design effective testing and monitoring. Job expectations include creating methodologies to evaluate process and control effectiveness and compliance with laws, rules, and policies.

  • Test Development: The ability to design and document tests used to measure the effectiveness of the Bank's processes and controls as well as adherence to applicable Laws, Rules, Regulations and internal policies and procedures

  • Test Reporting: The ability to produce testing results, reporting and data-driven insights of the test inventory

  • Test Development Life Cycle: Understands the end-to-end Test Development Life Cycle from test request to development, execution, and dissemination of results. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to meet testing objectives

  • Programming Languages: Strong computational programming skills using other programming languages or scripts, e.g. Spark, R, C, JAVA, YAML, etc.

  • Python: Strong programming skills using Python and it's packages

  • Software Engineering: Software Engineering Life Cycle - Understand the software engineering life cycle and able to apply to daily coding

  • Database Administration: Experience developing and maintaining complex databases and data sets

  • Clustering/Classification: Ability to extract, analyze, and merge data from disparate systems, and perform deep analysis

  • Automation: The ability to design, deploy, and refine predictive programming algorithms to minimize repetitive tasks and increase capacity by using real-time data to recognize patterns

  • Business Acumen and Domain Knowledge: Deep understanding of the product, the underlying business, and associated technical domains

  • Problem-solving: Approaches challenges creatively and effectively, even under constraint

  • Attention to Detail: Writing clean, maintainable code and proactively identifies and resolves issues

Responsibilities:

  • Reviews test builds, maintenance, and quality assessments

  • Oversees the identification and handling of issue escalation/resolution to prevent delays in delivery and identify and leverage opportunities for automation where possible

  • Interacts extensively with internal or external contacts to identify, research, analyze and resolve complex problems

  • Ensures effectiveness and compliance with laws, rules, and policies.

Minimum Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degrees or above in fields including but not limited to: Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, Process and Mechanical Engineering, Operations Research, Data Science, Accounting, Business Administration (or equivalent work experience)

  • 2+ years of relevant work experience in software engineering in Quantitative Finance or other industries

  • Strong Programming skills (e.g., Python) and solid understanding of Software Development Life cycle principles

  • Able to document and verbally explain the intuition and details behind testing methodologies in a manner that is clear, concise, and consumable for a broad set of audiences that include key stakeholders across the Bank, as well as auditors and regulators

  • Knowledge of financial services industry and related regulations
