Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Facilities Maintenance Technician II to help ensure our bank facilities remain safe, functional, and well-maintained. In this role, you will perform a wide range of maintenance and repair activities, including troubleshooting HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems; completing preventative maintenance; and handling general property upkeep such as painting, drywall repair, carpentry, and minor construction projects. You will travel between branch locations, respond to maintenance requests, coordinate with vendors, and proactively identify and resolve facility issues to maintain a professional and welcoming environment for employees and customers.

  • Troubleshoot and repair a wide range of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical fixtures and components. 
  • Perform minor construction tasks such as carpentry, concrete, flooring, painting and drywall repair. 
  • Perform preventative maintenance across a variety of building systems. 
  • Diagnose & resolve diverse facility issues, including problems with locks, doors, closers, lighting, phones, IT cabling, and other misc. duties as assigned. 
  • Travel to branch locations and respond to maintenance request as required. 
  • Ensure that each building’s interior and exterior are well-maintained and ensure that grounds are clean and presentable. 
  • Maintain accurate records of time and maintenance tasks. Daily use of detailed maintenance software. 
  • Monitor and control maintenance inventory, parts and supplies as needed. 
  • Clearly and effectively communicate work issues with manager. 
  • Proactively address building issues without prompting and provide sound recommendations when needed. 
  • Provide excellent customer service assistance to internal and external clients. 
  • Assist in coordinating & overseeing work performance of contracted vendors.
  • Be available for occasional after-hours emergency response. 

 

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician in a similar facilities maintenance role.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
  • Experience with general property maintenance and painting. 
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and other documents.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency with power tools, multi-meters, and general hand tools.
  • Operating knowledge of maintenance software, Microsoft Office, current technology and an understanding of basic IT function.
  • Experience with computerized building automation systems (BAS) is helpful.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, drive for up to an hour at a time, and stand for up to 7 hours per day. Periodic bending, twisting repeatedly or consistently. The work is performed while sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching or stooping, periodically, repeatedly and sometimes consistently for up to 7 hours per day. 


Education/Training/Experience

  • High school diploma (or equivalent) required.
  • Vocational training in a relevant field is desirable.
  • Trade license or certification (e.g., HVAC, Electrical, etc.) preferred.
  • A minimum of three (3) years in facilities maintenance is preferred.
  • Possession of a valid Massachusetts Driver’s License with a clean driving record.


INDEPENDENT ACTION 

Performs work independently within scope of established guidelines and practices. Consults with Manager where clarification or exception to Bank policy may be required.
