Job Purpose & Scope

Responsible for the design and implementation of enterprise data solutions, empowering the organization to extract meaningful insights from large and distributed data sources. This position will serve as a subject matter expert in various domains, including cloud architecture, enterprise data modeling, data security, data storage, data extract, transform and load (ETL), data engineering, data visualization and data governance.  This position will use ingenuity and technical skills to turn business requirements and challenges into a scalable and performant enterprise data platform.


Essential Job Functions
  1. Leads architecture efforts, validation of those efforts, and the creation and adoption of the Bank’s architecture and standards methodology.
  2. Manages the data solution ideation, design, and implementation process.
  3. Evaluates business context and marketplace options for third-party solutions. 
  4. Prepares RFIs, RFPs, POCs, and prototypes.
  5. Collaborates with data engineering, application engineering, and application management leadership to devise and implement cohesive data strategies.
  6. Collaborates with data engineering and Technology Governance in the creation and adoption of data standards and procedures.
  7. Assists in design of a data solution architecture program, data solution roadmaps, and technical data infrastructure portfolio management.
  8. Creates and implements enterprise data management processes and procedures.
  9. Effectively leads direct reports (if applicable) while mentoring and influencing other employees.
  10. Develops and executes effective solutions while ensuring requested purposes are met and solutions align with enterprise standards.
  11. Directs the team’s identification and recommendations of appropriate solutions and decommissioning options.
  12. Advises data engineers on best practices and strategies consistent with enterprise data architecture.
  13. Regularly exercises discretion and judgment in the performance of essential job functions. 
  14. Maintains good and punctual attendance to work. 
  15. Follows Bank policy, procedures, and guidelines.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  1. Comprehensive knowledge of data warehousing and cloud data warehouse platforms.
  2. Proficiency in SQL.
  3. Knowledge of data security and privacy/consent provisions.
  4. Knowledge of ETL data flows and repositories.
  5. Knowledge of data modeling methodologies for analytics workloads.
  6. Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  7. Ability to demonstrate critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  8. Ability to work effectively and collaboratively across functional and organizational groups and build business relationships to achieve the desired objectives of the Bank.

  9. Ability to effectively communicate (written and verbal) in team interactions, reporting, and presentation.
  10. Skilled in using Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  11. Skilled in Python, and software development tools and methodologies.

Basic Qualifications
  1. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business administration, finance, or job-related field, required.
  2. Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in IT Management or other information technology solutions architecture role, required.

  3. Minimum of five (5) years of experience with data warehouse and data analytics technologies, projects, and operations, required.
