Position Summary
The Senior Technical Trainer is a vital role in the success of Bandag and their independent franchisees. This position will assist franchised Bandag retread manufacturing plants with any issues and training involved in the Bandag retread process. This will include the skills to properly administer, deliver, develop and follow-up on training courses developed by the Technical Training Department in relation to the retread process, equipment maintenance, production inefficiencies, quality issues or process troubleshooting. The Senior Technical Trainer may travel approximately 25%-50% of the time based upon customer demand and will assist with training project development and courses delivered in Muscatine, Iowa and Akron, OH when not in the field. This is a position which is valued by the Bandag dealer organization for the experience, knowledge, and professionalism it brings in helping them to sustain and improve their retread plant operations.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver classroom and in-field retread process training courses which benefit both the dealer and manufacturing plant technician
  • Understand and deliver retread production courses that increase retread production, maintain quality, and improve technician and Retread Production Manager knowledge as well as note inefficiencies within the manufacturing plant
  • Must be able to operate all Bandag retread plant equipment properly and safely
  • Provide individual equipment or process training classes to experienced retread technicians, retread plant managers, fleet representatives, or Bridgestone Teammates no matter their experience
  • Must be able to perform and teach nail hole and section repairs on commercial truck tires according to process specifications
  • Individual must have a detailed working knowledge of the retread plant, all its workstations, and be capable to provide Retread Plant Tours when needed.
  • Work to develop virtual training modules on all aspects of the retread process
  • Understand and deliver training provided through the Halight Learning Management System
  • Assist with training courses delivered in Muscatine, Iowa and Akron, OH. These will include Certified Retread Technician, Advanced Tire Analysis, tire repair, equipment maintenance training, Retread plant Manager training, fleet process training as well as Bandag Technical Service Representative training in both English and Spanish.
  • Applicant will be required to be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, and TEAMS).

Skills
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is a plus.
  • Excellent people skills - ability to communicate and interact with students in a positive manner across all functional levels
  • Excellent presentation skills

Minimum Qualifications
  • Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a bachelor's degree; or 3 years and a master's degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent work experience
