Position Overview Primary Function: The role of the Yoga Instructor is to provide safe, engaging, and inclusive yoga classes for members that promote physical well-being, mindfulness, flexibility, and healthy lifestyles while upholding the mission of FitWell. The Yoga Instructor creates a welcoming environment for participants of varying experience levels by delivering thoughtful instruction, encouraging proper technique and alignment, and fostering a sense of community. FitWell seeks an engaging, inclusive instructor who can create a welcoming environment for participants of all experience levels while promoting safe movement and proper alignment.

A successful Yoga Instructor remains current on industry best practices, attends required meetings and training, and designs classes that inspire continued participation and personal growth. Position Appointment Details: Career Band: NE3 Hourly position Part-Time Position Description Typical Duties & Responsibilities: Provide a safe and fun environment for participants Plan and lead yoga classes appropriate for participants with varying skill levels and abilities. Demonstrate and promote proper yoga techniques, including breathing, alignment, balance, flexibility, strength, and relaxation.

Provide customer service to members of FitWell Maintain yoga equipment, classrooms, and storage areas in a clean and organized manner. Monitor participants throughout class to encourage proper form and reduce the risk of injury. Knowledge of FitWell policies and procedures Maintain current required certifications Enforce facility and program policies Attend all required trainings and meetings (dates and times TBA) Other duties as assigned by FitWell Manager of Operations or Director of FitWell Judgment Required: Prescribed, established procedures are primarily used to perform the essential functions of this position.

Machines & Equipment Used: Able to operate, evaluate, and perform basic troubleshooting of malfunctioning fitness equipment. Personal Interaction/Communications: Student Contact: Frequent; assisting visitors, answering questions Internal (Operations Committee, Faculty, Administrative department heads) Frequent; assisting visitors, answering questions External (Regents & Trustees, government officials or agencies, visitors, parents, other institutions, colleges, or companies, suppliers) Frequent: assisting visitors, answering questions Attributes of a Successful Candidate Education: High school diploma or equivalent Experience: 1+ years of related experience teaching yoga classes in a fitness, wellness, studio, or similar setting preferred. Preference will be given to instructors experienced in teaching Vinyasa Flow, though applicants with expertise in other yoga styles are encouraged to apply.

Job Related Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively Knowledge of yoga principles, proper alignment, breathing techniques, and injury prevention. Ability to provide appropriate modifications for varying abilities and physical limitations. Proficient in basic communication applications and platforms, including Fusion Innosoft and G Suite Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends Knowledge of basic gym operations and fitness services is desirable Licenses/Certification: Must hold a current yoga instructor certification from a nationally recognized organization Have current certification for adult First Aid/CPR/AED Supplemental Information Working Environment: Work is performed in the FitWell classrooms, with the ability to facilitate classes on the patio, weather dependent and at instructor discretion.

Must be able to demonstrate yoga poses, transitions, and techniques throughout class.
