Job description

Introduction

Established in 1912, Bank of China is one of the largest banks in the world, with over $3 trillion in assets and a footprint that spans more than 60 countries and regions. Our long-term outlook, institutional weight and global breadth provide our clients with a stable and reliable financial partner, whether in Corporate or Personal Banking or our Trade Services, Commodities, Financial Institutions and Global Markets lines of business.

Overview

We are seeking a highly analytical and experienced Custody System Business Support Lead to drive the implementation, optimization, and ongoing maintenance of our core custody platform. The ideal candidate possesses deep functional knowledge of the TCS BaNCS Global Securities Platform (GSP) and a strong foundation in global securities markets. This role serves as the critical bridge between the OSD Custody operations team and external system vendors, ensuring that system capabilities perfectly align with business requirements, client instruction workflows, and strict reconciliation standards.

Responsibilities
  • System Implementation & Testing: Lead the execution and UAT (User Acceptance Testing) phases of the TCS BaNCS GSP implementation. Coordinate testing environments, manage vendor deliverables, and validate end-to-end processing.
  • Business Requirements & Enhancements: Author precise Business Requirement Documents (BRDs) for future system enhancements. Translate complex OSD Custody workflows into clear technical specifications for system vendors and development teams.
  • System Monitoring & Configuration: Oversee daily system performance, manage system setups, and configure parameters. Proactively identify operational bottlenecks and deploy system-driven solutions to optimize straight-through processing (STP).
  • Process Reconciliation: Design and monitor rigorous system reconciliation processes to ensure data integrity between the custody platform, external market utilities, and client reporting outputs.
  • Operational Support: Act as the primary escalation point for complex system queries from the custody operations team. Provide hands-on support for trade processing, corporate action events, and settlement inquiries.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree is required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10+ years of direct, hands-on experience implementing, configuring, testing, or providing business support specifically for the TCS BaNCS system (preferably the Global Securities Platform - GSP).
  • Technical Proficiency: Proven ability to navigate TCS BaNCS system architecture, parameters, and configuration settings. Must be highly capable of bridging the gap between technical system functions and business operations.
  • Market Knowledge: Deep understanding of the global securities market, trade lifecycles, SWIFT standards (ISO 15022/20022), and intricate settlement processes (including a clear understanding of actual vs. contractual settlement protocols).
  • Analytical Skills: Strong capability to perform complex reconciliations and root-cause analysis for system issues, maintaining strict objectivity and quality control in all reporting.
  • Communication: Excellent technical and business writing skills for drafting BRDs and managing communications with external system vendors and internal stakeholders.
Pay Range
