Job description

Job Summary: 

We are seeking a User Acceptance Testing (UAT) Specialist to join our Product Team at Bamboo Insurance, a high-growth personal homeowners insurance company. This role will ensure close collaboration with product management and the technology team. As a UAT Specialist you will play a critical role in confirming all user-facing systems, platforms, and applications meet both product, customer, and regulatory requirements. Leveraging your background in the property and casualty insurance industry to validate Bamboo’s systems function smoothly for customers, agents, and internal teams. Your contributions will support Bamboo's commitment to delivering exceptional, compliant insurance solutions that meet the needs of our stakeholders. 

Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Act as the primary UAT liaison within the Product Department to work closely key stakeholders to ensure systems meet business needs and client objectives. 

  • Work with stakeholders to create detailed UAT test plans and cases based on specific insurance workflows, regulatory requirements, and product use cases. 

  • Conduct manual testing of insurance applications. 

  • Validate that data flows through systems correctly and complies with industry standards. 

  • Focus on testing workflows for complex insurance processes. 

  • Provide clear feedback and regular updates to Product team leadership on testing progress, risks, and issues affecting the alignment of systems with product requirements. 

  • Assist with training the product team on new functionality related to insurance products. 

Required Skills/Abilities:  

  • Strong understanding of insurance industry, including insurance products, workflows, and regulations. 

  • Ability to identify and resolve discrepancies in insurance-specific workflows, policies, and regulatory requirements. 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of working collaboratively with cross-functional teams and documenting issues clearly. 

  • Ability to escalate issues when necessary and suggest improvements to streamline insurance processes. 

  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively, especially in a fast-paced product development environment. 

Required Education and Experience: 

  • 2+ years of experience in the property and casualty insurance industry 

Preferred Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferred. 

  • Understanding of homeowners insurance products including coverages and forms, workflows, and regulatory requirements. 

  • Experience in insurance product management is a plus. 

  • Familiarity with test case management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence) and a solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies, particularly in a regulated industry. 

Physical Requirements:  

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. 

Salary: Starting at $65,000 annually. Candidate's skills, experience and abilities will be taken into consideration for final offer.
